Manor Užutrakis

The Manor Užutrakis was built in 1898 to 1901. At that time, Juozapas Tiškevičius the younger, who inherited a large area around the present homestead from Juozapas Tiškevičius the elder, built the palace according to the project of Joseph Husch, Polish architect. The palace has Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Classical features. The interiors were decorated in the early French classical style of Louis XVI. The palace is surrounded by a large park, which was designed as a water park with a complex 20 decorative interconnected ponds system and the great lakes of Galvė and Skaistis. At the end of the 19^th century, the Park Užutrakis was founded in an old pine, fir tree and oak forest where many local and introduced species of trees and shrubs have been growing up to now.
