Blessed Trinity Church

When in 1617 Alexander Masalskis’, the Marshal of Kaunas County, daughter Klara joined the Bernardine Monastery, the Marshal and his wife Apolonija Jasinskaite-Masalskiene decided to become the founders of the monastery. Using the funds of the Masalskis’ family, in 1624-1634, a brick Trinity Church which replaced a former small wooden church and a two-floor monastery were built. The wooden church was first mentioned in Zigmunt Vasa’s letter in 1589. In 1864, after the transfer of the Samogitian Diocese Center from Kaunas to Varniai, the church and the eastern part of the monastery were handed over to Kaunas Parish, and the Sisters Bernardians were moved to other monasteries. During the years of independence, this church belonged to a parish. In about 1937 it was handed over to the Salesians. In 1963, the church was closed. But it opened the door after a short break in 1978 and went to the seminary for priests.
