Parudaminis Barrow by Švedai Cemetry

Not far from Parudaminis village (Vilnius district), there is Parudaminis Barrow, also known as Švedai cemetery, which dates back from the middle of the 1st millennium to the early 2nd millennium. It reveals that the area has been inhabited since ancient times. In the barrow, there are 21 sandy mounds with a diameter of 6 m - 8 m to 12 m and even 14 m - 16 m, while the height is 0.3 m. - 0.6 m to 1 m - 1.2 m and even 1.6 m - 1.8 m. The mounds are located 1 m - 3 m to 10 m - 15 m apart from each other in an elongated and slightly descending area. At the base of the larger mounds, there are remnants of ditches or elongated pits, and on the slopes of some mounds, there have remained single crown stones or grooves. Many of the mounds were slightly destroyed earlier when plowing and digging pits therein.
