Panevėžiukas Manor

In Babtai eldership, Kaunas district, on the right bank of the river Nevėžis, at the estuary of the Striūna stream, there are remains of the manor ensemble buildings: a manor house, a servants’ house, a partly collapsed well and fragments of a park. For the first time, Panevėžys manor was mentioned in written sources in the 16th century. It is known that the oldest owners of the manor were Albertas and Motiejus Stanislovačiai Andriuškevičiai who sold the building to Kasparas Bilevičius in 1544. For centuries, the owners have changed over and over again, but the revival of the manor is associated with the Siručiai family who owned it in the 18th century. In the 19th - early 20th century, Panevėžiukas was ruled by Korevos who built a two-floor brick wing at two ends of the wooden house of Siručiai palace. The buildings were larger than the old palace and covered with attic red tile roofs.
