Padauguvėlės Manor

It was one more mansion of Tiškevičius family which was one of the most influential families in Lithuania. The red brick, German style mansion was built in the late 19^th century - early 20^th century. The mansion belonged to Jonas-Benediktas Tiškevičius. Therefore, the initials “B. T.” and a fragment of Tiškevičius’ stone coat of arms were embedded on the remaining stable facade. The heritage consists of a red brick palace with a two-floor risalite centre (wooden carvings decorate the entrance into the palace), a red brick farm-hand building (servant’s house), a well, and a wooden barn. Interestingly, the remains of the manor buildings are scattered in the territory of two present villages: the palace, the stables and the barn are located in Godėnai, while the farm-hand building - in the current Padauguvėlė village. During the Soviet occupation, the manor house had an 8-year Laučegrodas School, and later an apartment block was set up here. A farm-hand building also became a separate residential house.
