M.K.Čiurlionis House in Vilnius

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis House-Museum opened in Savičiaus str. on 24 September 1995. The museum was founded in a house where in 1907-1908, after returning from Warsaw, the most famous Lithuanian composer and artist rented a 17 sq. m. room. In the opening year, the memorial board of M. K. Čiurlionis was unveiled. There a bas-relief and an inscription of the artist were carved: “Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis lived in this house in 1907-1908”. The memorial room has an exposition where there are no authentic items, but the interior which is very similar to those days is presented to the visitors. Here is the vast majority of publications about the genius’ works - from the first monograph published in 1912 to the recent albums and articles in the Lithuanian and foreign languages dedicated to M. K. Čiurlionis.
