Blessed Virgin's Immaculate Conception of Alionys

In the 18^th century, in Alionys there was a chapel that belonged to Širvintos parish. In 1782, it was allowed to hold services there. In 1939, a church was built and a parish founded. The wooden church, built in 1932, has interesting marks of old construction traditions. The bottom opening of the naval wall and the tower are built from tufted baulks without boarding. The tower consists of three openings as a bell tower. The iron crosses of this church are well-known (late 19^th - early 20^th century, built in the towers of the major and rear facades). From a historical point of view, Alionys parish is unique in Lithuania since its establishment resulted from the aggression of Poland against Lithuania in 1920. The boundary of Alionys parish coincides with the former demarcation (administration) line separating independent Lithuania from the part of Vilnius occupied by Polish.
